    Car question

    What do you think,will court let me keep my car,i owe 11500$ but car is worth arround 9000$.I pay on time every month.Btw we are in Oregon and we will fille chapter 7 soon.

    The choice is yours...unless is a big ol' luxury car or something... What is the monthly payment and is it within the guidelines of whats accepted in your State?

    May 21, 2009 Retained 2nd Attorney
    May 28th - Filed for Ch 7 (FINALLY!)
    9/11/09 - DISCHARGED!!!!

      It is toyota camry,monthly payment is 200.00$.Our lawyer said court probably won't let us keep but i am little confused.

            Are you current with your payments?

            Who financed your vehicle? Where are you located?

            Most of the districts will allow a ride through, but not all of them. Some lenders (like Ford Credit) don't allow ride throughs at all. They will require a reaffirmation agreement to be signed by you or they will lift the stay and repo your car even if you are current.

            Did your attorney say why he thought you would have to surrender your car?
