Need advise: Discharged in January rec collection notice

    Hi Everyone,

I was discharged chapter 7 in January of this year, filed back in September. I thought I had included everyone in my bankruptcy. I included the mortgage company for the property but forgot to list the association for my condo. I received a bill dated 2/15 and 3/15, I picked it up today. The forwarding sticker has 3/20 as the date.

It's a huge bill for the association dues. Will I be able to amend my BK to include since I did file on the property itself and wasn't aware of this bill? Or will I have to pay this huge bill?

    Thanks,

It is my understanding that HOA fees are your responsibility until the property is taken over by the bank. I may very well be wrong about this, so if you have a attorney I suggest you ask.

Life is not what challenges you face, but how you face those challenges.

      Thanks for the response NoMoreCards

Would I be responsible then from the date that I filed bk (Sept) onward? The property is in foreclose. I wasn't aware when I filed anything was owed to the HOA. The first year of HOA was supposed to have been paid by the builder, it was listed in my Mortgage paperwork, so I'm not even sure why there stating I owe so much.
