    Discharged question on collections

Been discharged since last fall (chap 7)

Occasionally we still get some bills from old debts. I call and fax them the discharge letter and they seem to go away. Except for one. I was told they received my discharge letter and are "investigating it".

What does "investigating it" mean? Am I correct in assuming that they cannot argue anything at this point?

I would not mess with them any longer. You filed, you were discharged and they received notice of your discharge, right? I am assuming this is a collections agency (CA) and not the original collector (OC).

Take them to court. It is a violation of the discharge injunction. Who is the collector by the way? If they are a national collector, they know better. These CA's don't back down unless you get aggressive with them. There is $$ in it for you, don't let them get away with this (even if they are the OC).

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
