    Stop Receiving Credit Card Offers!

I've seen a lot of posts with people upset about receiving pre-screened credit card offers in the mail. You can stop receiving offers for 5 years, or PERMANENTLY by going to this website:

I did this 2 years ago and about 8 weeks after I submitted it, I have NEVER received a credit card or other loan offer. It is endorsed by all 3 credit bureaus and your information is secure.
I am not an attorney and any advice given is simply opinion based on my personal experiences. Always ask an attorney before making legal decisions.

I just filed last week and did not not want receive these offers after discharge as well. I read somewhere about the ability to opt-out and did my google searches and came across the same site. After some background and validity research on optoutprescreen.com I came to the conclusion it was a legitimate site and took the dive and filled out all the required info a week ago.

Time will tell on how well it works for me. It's crazy how fast offers start coming in after you file. I filed one week ago and I've already received 2 car loan offers directly related to the filing.

      No........ don't do that!

Take all of those applications that come in the mail, write "no thanks" across the face of them, and mail them back in the postage paid envelope.

Mail everything. Every shred of paper that they sent you, along with the envelope that they mailed it in, along with anything else you can stuff in that free ride back to them. I normally send them the local grocery store circulars or the wally world sale papers too.

Let them pay to mail it twice. That's a lot more fun!

        That is awesome....

My thinking revolves more around temptation prevention. I will definitely be doing this in the future with any that I do get. Good info, thanks.

I used to do that too. I haven't gotten any cc offers in a very long time, so I haven't had the opportunity lately, but yeah, I agree... it's a lot more satisfying to cost them money.

Well, they have actually already paid for the envelope that comes in the packet, so they have already paid twice before you even send it back. But that is funny, I just prefer to stop them from stuffing my mailbox because I don't have time to mail off 5 offers every day.

They paid for the printing, but I don't think their bulk mail account gets charged until you use it.
