    New, and reading lots. Nervous

My Husband and i filed Ch 7, on 2-22 and we meet with the trustee on 3-29. I am incredibly nervous about this meeting. I am literally losing sleep. Between all of our bank accounts we were 27 dollars over the 300 allowed. I am nervous that something will happen, and the bankruptcy wont go thru.
My lawyer has said from our first meeting that this is 100% slam dunk. Nothing major, just tons of medical bills, and a few small credit cards( less than 500 and havent been used in MONTHS) and timeshare. Hubby makes 70 dollars less a month, than the median income for our state.

I just finished getting all the info the trustee wanted, and put it in the mail. I am so afraid i am going to screw this up somehow.

Part of me is nervous, because we had to spend our tax refund, before we filed, and since my husband is looking for a new job, and hasnt bought suits in a long time. he spent 800 on suits for interviews. ( he is an executive manager) I am afraid they will say it was an unnecessary purchase, and will dismiss our case.
    Silly huh?

    so anyway. i am rambling.

I just wanted to say hi, and give a little intro, since i am here and reading and might respond to some threads.
    Thanks
    Melissa

Generally they're after the genuinely abusive people who are trying to get away with a lot, which doesn't sound like you!

Being just 27 dollars over, at worst I can imagine they might want you to give them the $27, but your attorney probably knows full well it'd cost the trustee much more to actually obtain it so I'd expect it to just fly under the radar.

Basically: I don't think you should worry. (-:

Our experienced attorney also told us our case would be a piece of cake...he was right. Like you we were below the median, and he said the trustee would have little interest in it. Again, like you, it didn't stop us from worrying. LOL

Our bank account statement, which would include the date of filing, was one of the items we were instructed to bring to the 341. Iowa has a $2000 exemption. The trustee did not ask to see this in any of the dozen or so cases I witnessed. Good luck!

At the time of filing, we had about $1200 in our checking... (we hadnt paid bills yet) our attorney never advised us of anything (to have close to a zero balance). At our 341 the TT never said anything about it or even questioned it. Like you, I have been losing sleep over this whole mess we got ourselves into and I just figure.. if they want the money... they can have it. Just as long as this all is over with!! We have kept our tax returns in our account just in case the TT wants them back... Yes, we desperately need that money, but if will make the TT happy and close the case.. he can have it! Good luck!

I was suppose to have only $100 left my in checking account, but my attorney made an error and filed the petition on a day earlier and on payday! Yikes! I was worried, but nothing was ever mentioned by the Trustee

Don't lose sleep over your 341, it'll be over before you know it!
