    waiting for case number

We filed on Monday, or maybe it went through on Tuesday. The paralegal said she was waiting for case numbers for a dozen cases. She said we would receive a letter this week with our 341 date and case number.

She doesn't get a case number instantly when she files our petition?

Case number, yes, but the 341 Meeting Date may take time to set in that particular District.

Hmm. Maybe she didn't file it right then and there.

As long as it's filed this week I don't care.

You can look the case # up on Pacer yourself if it's been filed....
        Filed Chapter 13 on 2-28-10. 341 completed 4/14/10. Confirmed 5/14/10. Lien strip granted 2/2/11
0% payback to unsecured creditors, 56 payments down, 4 to go....

I don't have access to Pacer yet. I ended up registering and letting them mail my info instead of giving them any account info, so I'm still waiting for that.

Most attorneys use one of two major bankruptcy preparation computer software packages, one of which is Best Case. These packages allow them to submit the package electronically and pay for the case. The case number is instantly created upon submission.

They may only upload cases on certain days.

I know for a fact they use Best Case. Like I said, I don't care as long as it's filed this week. I have no reason to think she's lying to me or anything like that. It's more that I'm not good at being patient. lol

Just got an email from the service that my attorney uses for CCC and Debtor Education. It says the attorney has ordered the DE course and I can log in to complete it! (I need the case number to do it, so I'm sure that will follow)

                One step closer....

One step at a time. Since the login requires the case number, perhaps the Paralegal already has it. Time for another email.
