Property to go to sheriff sale

I own a property in Ohio and live in NC. I just got notice that it is no longer legally my property and will be going to the sheriff. I have been wanting to file a Chapter 7 and do not want to keep this property anyways. I just have not had the money to get an attorney.

I was thinking of doing the filing on my own, once the property goes to sheriff sale, do I still have to put the property on my BC? I'm new to all this so I'm sorry if this has been asked. I just don't know how to handle everything.

The way I handled the same situation is: No, if it's not yours, it doesn't go in the petition. However, the foreclosure court case goes on Form 7, and you may still have an outstanding deficiency that becomes an unsecured debt for Schedule F.

Form 7: I put mine in answers 4a and 5. I don't know if that was correct but, hey, it flew.
