    Removing Authorized Users

I will have to remove authorized users from three of my cards before filing for Chapter 7. I'm behind on all cards and am nervous to make the call. Anyone with experience in removing UA's while behind in payments? I'm afraid they'll tell me that I have to become current in order to do so.

    Thanks in advance!

My quick responce wasn't very insightfull at all. Sorry.
I didn't realize they can put bad marks on the authorized users of an account due to the card holders late payments. Collections may also call AU's even tho they have no legal obligation to pay. Anyway, I Don't really understand what your asking.

For the ones who are AUs on your accounts, they can get them off their reports easily. Just need to dispute the accounts as 'not mine'. And since they are not their accounts (AU is not responsible party) the bureaus generally remove them upon receiving the dispute without further investigation.

I have had users on my cards and the fact that I was behind was on posted to their credit history.

All they have to do is call the credit cards companies, ask to remove them as authorized users and erase all records from their credit history. I recommend to back up their request with a fax. All records were removed within 30 days.
