Advice needed before filing Chp 7...purchase auto?

I am having anxiety attacks just thinking about what we are fixing to have to do. This was not an easy decision at all, but we have been left with no choice

I do need some advise/opinions from some of you have have experienced something similiar. We have an older vehicle that we are several thousand $'s upside down in with very high miles & plan to surrender it, but will need another vehicle ASAP. We know IF we are lucky to get one we will be paying high interest. We are not wanting a new auto, but one we can get paid off within 2 years or so with reasonable miles. We also have a much older vehicle that is used to go back & forth to work & during our initial consulation we were told we'd be able to keep it. We still have to get another one though because I will have no way to get the kids to school, appts, etc...

Okay, here is where I need you guys...... Since we will be needing another ride immediatley, should we 'try' to get one prior to filing (next week or 2) or wait until after discharge? We are not even sure we can get financing right now, but would like some input just in case.

Thanks for all you do in helping support others in a difficult time!

We went through the same thing because we knew we had to surrender one of our two cars that had a $600 note. There was not even a discussion about giving it up. We saved $2,500 and I bought a used Ford Taurus which are pretty good cars for the most part. It had 91,000 miles on it but I have had it for a year now and have not had one problem. It now has 113,000 miles on it. You need to save up and buy a car with cash. Don't try to finance something else, you are going to regret it. Use the oppurtunity for a fresh start and get one.

Great Advice LSUTiger32!!!! Take a break from car payments if at all possible.
There are plenty of good looking, reliable cars out there.
