    Married - Filing Singly?

    #2
Your wife's income will be used as well as yours in terms of household income.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

As always its best to ask a local attorney - but my understanding is means test uses household income (even that of the non-filing wife) and actual # in household. Exemptions would be based on solo filer, so the vehicles in your wife's name would be a non-issue if you filed alone.
Get mortgage modified: DONE! 7 months of back interest payments amortized, payment reduced over $200/mo
(In the 'planning' stage, to file ch. 13 if/when we have to.)

They want your household income. Believe it or not, your wife's income is counted in the paperwork. You can then deduct for amounts she spends that don't contribute to your household. When you visit an attorney for your free consultation, it'll be explained to you. Or you can read a book such as NOLO's Chapter 7 to understand better what you have in store for you. Good luck!

OK, then if we file jointly the car(s) will be sold, correct?
