retaining our attorney today! and a question

We kept getting behind on other things- a huge electric bill, car repairs... finally we have the money together to pay the attorney! I am so relieved. His secretary is so rude, but I don't even care. Just do my paperwork and lets get this done!!!

I am so nervous though- we did the means test and make about 1/2 of the median income and our attorney said we certainly appear to qualify. we have no fradulent activity or anything.. Once we pay the attorney, can anything happen that would make us unable to file? I want to breathe a sigh of relief but I feel like I can't until everything is finished once and for all. This has all been such a nightmare...

Make sure you meet with at least 3 attorneys. Then pay the fee and take a breather. It will be a little while before you are done. You have to take your pre-bakruptcy class and your post filing class. Get the class done before your 341 hearing. Once you file answer the calls and give them your attorney information. If they ask questions tell them your attorney can answer their question. You will have to say it a couple times to get it through their thick heads.
