We completed the first credit counseling course yesterday and scheduled our meeting to finalize everything with the attorney. During the phone call with the rep to give us the certificate she said, "your expenses are xxx and your income is xxx so you have $145 give or take of disposable income each month"

Um, I didn't have the info I provided to the attorney in front of me for our budget, so I just guessed. I know for a fact we were negative with the budget we submitted to him. Does this matter that they differ? Will the counseling course relay that info to anyone, or just say we completed the course?

We are way below median so does it matter at all?

Good question. I wish attorneys would give people their schedules before they have clients do the course and have them use the numbers from them. The certificate may say if a debt repayment plan was prepared or not -- if it was, a copy will be provided. Does your certificate mention that at all?

Nothing on the certificate but the date, a certificate number, and a name of the counselor we spoke with.
