Post Chapter 7 Bank Account Blues

I went down to Wells Fargo with my wife today to add her to a bank account we have even prior to chapter 7. My employer is depositing all my checks into this account for which I have not spent one dime. We now live on my wife's income post discharge.

The bank refused to put her on the account because of her credit score which they pulled while were sitting there without even asking us.

Well, we have our normal checking and saving's accounts at another bank so it's no biggie, just very disappointing.

We are liking the cash lifestyle very much so screw them!

Anyway, does anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks

    BofA

BofA put me on something with Chexsystems myself and I had trouble opening a new account at most places. I finally just went with hsbc and it is all online so if you don't need a bank you have to go into then that might be an option.

Thank you. I will look into that. We all need to work together to take the power away from the corrupt banking system we live with.

It's hard to believe that the bank refused to put your wife on your account solely because of her low credit score. I wonder if there's something else involved here?

She should find out if she's listed on ChexSystems. If she is, to get off it all she has to do is to send a copy of your bk discharge to them - they'll take her off the list.

Another option to get your separate accounts in one location is to move your account to her bank or credit union. Personally I wouldn't want to deal with a bank that refuses to add a spouse to her husband's account at her husband's request solely because of her credit score.
