I've looked all over to try to find the answer to this question. Maybe someone here can shed some light on the subject for me.
I am currently leasing my 2007 Saturn Outlook which will expire in September. I've never leased before and this is probably the worst situation with BK looming in our near future. To complicate it further, my husbands truck will be paid off in November. So, that frees up about $700/mo in car payments.
My concern is that I will lose my truck and I want to keep it. It's actually an 8 passenger vehicle and we have 6 members in our family and I do daycare out of my home. Do I need to accept the fact that its a lease and it's going back? Do I wait to file until I can possibly finance the car? Do I file asap and try to finance it after BK?
And just to be clear, I'm still not certain that we will qualify for Chap 7. I feel like our situation is so complicated and no attorney is willing to give me any advice until they see our entire financials--which is also complicated because I have 2 home based businesses and my husband works outside of the home AND owns rental properties. So, there is tons of paperwork to wade through before we get our chance. And, if you've read my comments on other threads, you probably already know that my husband is currently NOT interested in BK. So I feel like I'm the only one trying to figure things out.
Any opinions are appreciated.
