But if you don't owe anything to Chase or WF, and don't have any cc's or loans thru them, you should NOT have to worry about them freezing your account, right??? Why would they freeze it if you do not owe them any money.......

Wells is the devil. I wouldn't bank there ever. They will FREEZE your accounts for no reason with some BS excuse.

I bank at a local bank and a local CU, neither have frozen my accounts. We filed exactly two weeks ago today. The CU holds our car loan which we're current on, we have no debt with the bank.

I think this is just another reason to not bank with the big corporate banks - it seems that most people who have this problem are with one of the big outfits!

I read somewhere that Union Bank also freezes accounts like Chase and Wells Fargo. Wow, this forum is very helpful. I had suspicion that banks in which you owe loans to can surpass the "automatic stay."

I would love to know if anyone has experiences involving US BANK! We have our banking, a credit card and overdraft line there but really have liked them and would love to stay with them if at all possible. We will be filing in the next 2 weeks

I haven't heard of anything with US Bank, but as this thread says, Wells is the worst. I moved everything to a credit union and haven't looked back. They even gave me $500 overdraft and a $5K credit card.
