I'm filing today, & TOTALLY nervous!

I'm filing my ch.7 on my lunch break today, and I'm a nervous wreck! I hope that I got every OC & CA on there. That's my biggest concern.

Now I've things on my mind, like will Time Warner Cable allow me to get service with them again after my discharge? They are included in it, from services several years ago. Also, I'm wondering how long before I can get an auto loan. I've just surrendered my financed car, and am paying my mom's auto loan & driving her car as my own unofficially. I want to get a used loan & buy it from her (for her payoff amount only, which is less than the car's value), as one way of re-establishing my credit. I'll also save money post-BK to get a secured credit card through my bank, and only charge 30% of my limit & pay the balance off monthly. All this so that I get my score up enough in a couple years, to finally become a first time home buyer!

Good luck. Don't worry so much!

My impression is that many utilities will let you have service again but they may want a hefty deposit first.

        I filed!

I did it, I did it, I DID IT!

Yep, I filed my chapter 7 BK documents today. I'm a Pro Se filer, and the only thing I forgot (which didn't hang me up), was to print out my credit counseling certificate & turn it in. I have 14 days to do that, but will take care of that tomorrow on my lunch break. My 341 is scheduled for 10am on April 1st. I hope April Fool's Day doesn't bode ill for me, LOL!!!

Feeling better already, then? (-: Was the clerk nice? Glad you remembered to do the counseling.

I don't think that "Be Nice" was in the clerk's job description, LOL, because she was gruff & unpleasant to say the least. Oh well, it's not like I expected to become her BFF! The counseling I did on Feb 3rd, but didn't pay to print the certificate until today. I meant to do it this morning, but forgot with the usual Monday morning workload bogging me down. It's printed, and I'll submit it to the clerk on my lunch break tomorrow. I work so close & now know exactly where to park! I've just got to remember to have a couple quarters to feed the meter.
