Chase is quiet during collections but sues at the drop of a hat. Looking at my court, most are suing business people or businesses; to me they are going after people with assets to sell. Chase is suing everyone, and comprises about 75 percent of the docket.

You need to answer. As backtoschool said, they are suing you and the advice is spot on. This is the first step. If you don't answer, they win by default then it is a whole new can of worms. Answer and get your BK set up properly in the meantime.
First consult: You go now, no CH 7 for you. You spent entire buffet. 13 has a 95 percent payback. (Owwwch) On to next consult....

I had a processor at my door for one of my 3 credit cards I defaulted on over a year ago and I did not answer the door. What happens now? I have no job, I'm a 99er, our home is in foreclosure, I have no bank account and I drive a 93 Nissan. The credit cards are in my name only, MY husband has no assets, the foreclosed home is in his name...
Should I just call the legal clinic tomorrow...for some answers. I always thought a person was served papers when they had assets or a job...I mean, If I had the money I would have filed BK already....any thoughts...thank you everyone...
