We know we are losing our car in the BK. Our attorney has drug his feet and they are trying to repo it now. We're supposed to file very soon. We will probably wait on our tax return and stick it in an IRA so we don't lose it. So what do we do about the car? If they don't repo it before the BK is filed, what's the general procedure? And when is it safe to replace it? I'm perfectly happy buying a beater or something cheap, as long as we have a way to get to and from work. We will probably have to pull money from the IRA for this.

Why would you lose your car in the bankruptcy assuming you file before they repo? I don't understand the question.Last edited by MSbklawyer; 02-05-2010, 06:29 PM.Pay no attention to anything I post. I graduated last in my class from a fly-by-night law school that no longer exists; I never studied or went to class; and I only post on internet forums when I'm too drunk to crawl away from the computer.
