    oh okay, well this is the only time i've ever borrowed from them. they have GIVEN me money (smaller amounts) before. but this was the only loan. i paid them back today.

      You can simply pay his bill for him if it is that much of an issue. Insert your credit card number or check or whatever. It shouldn't be an issue.

        I have already written him a check to pay him back, it's a done deal. So...if it prevents me from filing, oh well, I won't be able to. This is my dad, there's NO way I was going to jerk him around about paying him back.

          As long as you are under $600 paid back to your father for the year you should be fine.

            Next time just have him write a check for your bill and you write a check for his bill. No money would actually switch hands.

            My inlaws are paying for my husband's college and it would look fishy to get $2000 deposited in my bank account twice a year so we have the inlaws pay directly to the school. No issues.
