Filing in about a week - Should I inform mortgage company about bk/reaffirm?

    Hi,

Will be filing non-consumer (no personal debt besides home loan), and intend to reaffirm with my mortgage company. Filing in about a week. Should I give them a call and tell them i will be filing and intend to reaffirm? Will this maybe help with them retaining my internet pay access, getting the process going faster, etc? Anybody have experience with this?

    Thanks
    John

I did, once my case was filed. My mortgage holder said YES when I asked if they would reafirm.

I guess i'm just wondering if i should call them in advance to let them know...be on the up and up. I have a lawyer who will be handling the reaffirmation, but i thought it might help to let them know my intentions.

Once my case as filed, I called the mortgage company, ask your attorney what you should do.

I don't know how most mortgage companies handle it but mine did not take away my ability to pay online even after I did not reaffirm. I am currently awaiting discharge and have continued paying online as usual.
