    Chapter 7 question...

Hi, I am new here and appreciate the info I have gotten here browsing the threads. Getting ready to meet with attorney for first time today, looks like will be going with chapter 7 as have been unemployed for most of last year. Have around 55k unsecured debt can't pay on anymore. I have no health insurance and a concern I have is would it better to wait to start work and get insurance again or go ahead file and hope nothing happens(knocking on wood). I'm going into fourth month not paying don't wan't to deal with collection agencies and all that. Thank's in advance...

I would wait to file...until you have a new job. If you get sick, you can include medical debt.

Thank's Limage, I was thinking the same thing. I'll ask bk attorney about it today see what input he has. I had Cobra but couldn't afford it so it lapsed unfortunately.

Depends partly on if a new job is likely to push disposable income too high for chapter 7.

7/09 UST has decided to withdraw his motion to dismiss!
          7/27/09 DISCHARGED!!!

Just keep in mind if you include your Dr's medical debt, you probably won't be able to use that dr anymore. That happened to me.
