This morning at work at 9:30, I got an email from my BK atty stating I was above the median for a Ch. 7. Said somethink like the cut off was $38K and I was making $49K and he asked for any medical expenses, co-pays, etc. that he could work into it in the "next few business days." I used to make $55K but took a pay cut back in August since the firm was doing poorly.
Fast forward to 3:30 today, I got laid off. So my income is now -0-. I have applied online for unemployment, ... but wouldn't this make my situation a Chapter 7 now?
I had been with that law firm for 3 years and it is faltering and partners are leaving right and left with their associates and staff. Long story, but the firm is going D O W N.
But back to me, does this insure a Chapter 7 now?
