    What Happens After Discharge?

I'm new to the process and nowhere near the happy discharge symbol. But after discharge of a chapter 7, is that it? Does the court still monitor things, or is continued court monitoring only a part of Chapter 13?

The only thing that could reopen your case is a windfall, like the lottery or inheritence, if your BK was a standard Ch.7. After a year, you're in the clear, so buy lottery tickets and good luck...LOL! I believe it's a year. Basically, when you're discharged, that's it. You begin your fresh start and enjoy being debt free.
    Bankruptcy History:
    Chapter 7 filed - 10/12/2005 - Asset
    Discharged - 02/16/2006
    Case Closed - 11/08/2007

      Lottery ticket it is!

Basically, just asking if the court continues to look at income etc. after a discharge. I'm a writer with a project that has gained some attention. Won't be done until October,, won't go through an agent until November, best case scenario is that it sells in December. I've been through the process before (long ago, thus the bankruptcy!) Would I be penalized, if it sold after discharge? Does the court look at this stuff?

There are only 3 things that if they occur within 180 days of filing bk that can cause issues.

So in other words, a raise wouldn't "raise eyebrows"? I do have an attorney, but this is weighing on me right this second, and he's not around!

Once discahrged and closed, your financial affairs are your own concern. Nobody is looking over your shoulder.
