chp 7 discharged in Aug 2009, what happens to tax refund this year????

Discharged chapter 7 in August 2009 and case closed August 2009

Say I file my taxes this year March 2010 for tax year 2009 and I receive a refund, can the trustee come after the refund for either state or federal?

If so, how will they contact me? via mail?

I was going to ask a similar question, but since it has been answered...does any one know if the trustee does want the refund how will I be notified? hope some one can help!!!

The way I understand it is if your case is already closed then it's yours.

I'm not sure how you're notified if the trustee wants it. We started out in a 13 and received a letter from the trustee the first week of January stating that he wanted our refund. I'm not sure how it's done in a 7.

In your case, the Trustee may want your refund. You may have reason to ask for an extension. You have to October 15th to file. 'Hub

Thank you for your help...Hopefully they don't want it as we need to start a fresh savings. Our trustee filed a no asset/no distribution and has requested to be relieved as trustee...I think this is good news, but I don't know I could be wrong...
