    Strange question....

I am planning on filing soon and I have a DD that has been taking dance lessons for 6 years. I would hate to make her quit as she loves it and is very talented. DH keeps telling me this is not neccessary for her. Will the BK force me to stop her lessons? I hate to see her suffer from my financial mistakes.

No forcing you to stop. The trustee may disallow your expense on the schedules.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

i doubt it. but i am not the expert. mine is in dance also and have thought about this but if you think about it, nowadays if you don't have your child involved in something the school and doctors start to question you as a parent. They do around here anyway. I don't know what you pay for lessons but mine are like $30 /month.

I have 2 daughters that have danced for 11 & 9 years, thru our bk. Talk to your studio owner/director. Be honest and tell them you are having difficulty and ask if they offer scholarships. Most do, and it is a tax write off for the as well. You may still have to pay for costumes for recital, but that will spare tuition expense. Let them know when you get back on your feet (or your bk is dc-you don't have to explain that) that you are willing to go back paying tuition.
I would hate for my girls to quit. We've had to cut back on competing, but they still dance and would never give it up!
        Good luck!

            Really?

My kids aren't involved in a bunch of stuff. My 7 yr old participates in choir (at school--therefore free), and my son does golf "camp" for one week during the summer--$100.

I think I'd tell any school OR doctor that questioned not signing my kids up for stuff to butt out. But that's just me.

I agree. They don't tell you straight out but they mention little digs. Before I got her into anything they were like "you should really get her involved in something" or "exercise is good for kids you really need to get her into something" mind you she was 3 at the time. Believe me she gets enough exercise and we do alot of free stuff like the zoo and parks and stuff. My town is kinda affluent and snobby too. Its very hard to keep up when you are broke. I couldn't afford preschool so I was thinking of purchasing a homeschool program to get her ready because it would have been cheaper than $245/month that we didn't have. I told the doc this and she almost had a heart attack. They made me feel so bad. Asking me if I can get Head Start or qualify for a scholarship. I told them I had already applied and didn't qualify. Luckily my mom paid half but even the other half killed us every month with a new baby and me not working.

My kids never attended pre-school or Pre-K....and they are both way ahead of their peers. My 9 yr old is in the gifted program and my 7 yr old daughter is being tested for it this week. So, shows what the docs know. ;) I did exactly like you mentioned, purchased materials to work with them at HOME. They entered Kinder far ahead of their peers.

Tell them your kid set up his own meth lab and distribution network. That will shut them up.
