My husband and I filed chapter 7 Bankruptcy At the end of May 2009. Our case was discharged on Sept 2009 and closed oct 2009. Our case was a simple case, mainly credit cars and 2 cars one of which we reaffirmed and one went back to the bank. It was also a no asset case. Anyways Im planning on filing our taxes toady since we received our W2's. Question is will creditors send me 1099-c forms? or is that only for debts that were forgiven not in bankrtupcy? And do I have to file anything special?

KA2 almost mirrors my case where I filed in May and discharged in Sep. However, after I filed my taxes this week, I rec'd a 1099C from BofA for a short sale I did before I filed. BofA was listed on my creditor matrix for a different loan but they did have due notice of the bk. Does anyone know if I can check item 1a on Form 982 or do I need to go the insolvent route? My last option is sale of principle residence but the first option is more simple.Filed Ch7 5/28/09 (Pro Se) Orlando, 341 7/01, UST selected case for audit 7/01, Last day for objection 8/31. Audit report filed 9/10, no material misstatements. Discharged and closed 9/22/2009
