And I feel so much better having found my lawyer! He was happy that I'd done so much research on BK, mainly thanks to you guys and this forum. Made me feel so much better, I was worried about filing and my husband not filing and how that would come into play. He was workable on his fee as well, he wasn't the cheapest, but he took an hour and explained the process, the papers and everything. I let him know that I'd already been served with a summons, and he said drop it by, that he'd file a paper to drag out the process a little more. Surprised me that he'd do that even though I haven't officially retained him. I asked him what he was going to charge for that and he said nothing, it'd be included. I'll be sure to read the fine print when I sign the papers, but he really seemed like a decent guy. Just trying not to be too naive
So this is the first step...he gave me the paperwork to fill out, said drop it off, even without the retainer he'd have my info put in the computer so it's ready to go. I've been so stressed over this, the knot in my stomach just got a tad bit smaller just from knowing that I have someone on my side now. Thanks to all you guys for this wonderful forum, hope I won't be back here later screaming for help on something he messes up.
