    341 without ss card?

    yup, he lost it.
Applied for a new one 15 days before 341. It hasn't come yet. Still a chance, but I'm worried.

He has the paperwork from ss office saying he applied on 1/7/10, and they verified he is whom he says he is, etc.
I have mine, marriage liscense, etc.

Will they automatically postpone us, or is it up to the trustee?

Just trying to prepare myself for worse case scenario. Lawyer of course not in for 3 day weekend.

    Thanks.
    Filing cpt.7 11/09 341- 1/21/10
    Report of no distribution 1/21/10
Scheduled for discharge 3/22/10 (on my 15th wedding anniversary!)

Some courts will accept other credible proof of the SSN number - pay stubs, W-2 form, or a printout of his SS account from the Social Security Administration. Your lawyer can let you know if one of these plus the letter from the SSA will be ok.

Worst case scenario is that the trustee will simply request the court to continue your 341 to a later date. Here's hoping the SS card comes in time or that another official document with his SSN on it will be acceptable.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

If it doesn't arrive in time take the paperwork showing where he applied for a new card. Hopefully that will be sufficient.

        varies by location

It depends on the particular trustee and what they'll accept ... in my case, the trustee accepted a copy of my federal tax return to prove my SSN.

Thanks for the replies. Just one more thing on my mind. When it didn't come today, knowing there is no mail on Monday so I have to wait 2 more days, I was crushed!

We do however have his ss statement, and I'm hoping along with the offical notice from ss admin. that he applied (it does verify his number on it) that we will be ok.
If not, I can always try crying... do trustees soften if you cry??

It only took 7 days from applying for ours to come in the mail.

Hell I could never be a Trustee. I'd melt and then loan you a hundred bucks. All above are correct and I know you will be fine.

I have a card that says: "Not for identification purposes" on the bottom. I'll but most here on this forum do not. Yes it is true, the older cards have that. Now, does Govmint lie? LOLOL. Yes they do, do. My name has two like letters in the last name. The common spelling has one. It took Govmint three years to correct that.

I have no idea of what importance the SS card has, if you can prove with voter registrations, W2's and other things that you are who you are. Seems simple to me, but of course, I'm only an ignorant tax payer, and most important a voter.

I could not find my ss card so ended up applying for a replacement.
Our attorney told us the receipt for replacement card issued to me would be sufficient for our 341.

I was lucky though and got my new card in the mail in just over a week. Hang in there, I bet yours will be there soon!
