    My BK and 341 experience

    Hello,

Again, thanks all for the info. here is my experience and thoughts.

Probably the hardest part of everything so far was to finally make the decision to file or should i say the decision to retain an attorney. You always want to do the right thing and experiencing anything in life you want to win or succeed. BK seems like a failure at a point. Not really just another of life's options. Please try to get past that feeling.

My lawyer called the day before to inform me he would be out of town and had lined up another attorney to be there. made me wonder but in the course of action, for us, it was worthless. i realized the whole thing, i probably could have done myself.

Our 341 meeting was in Orlando Fl. Anyone going to this, it is held in room 600 of the Fairwinds building on the corner of Central and Garland. Expect to pay for parking, anywhere from $1-4. I would strongly suggest to get there maybe 1/2 an hour early, only for the fact, you can watch and listen to what is being asked and is bascially a production line. Same general questions....

You will raise your right hand and swear to tell the truth, while standing.
You may then sit down at a table, where there were 3 people. The Trustee, a lady on a computer looking at your info online and a 3rd person who really didn't do anything.

State your name and address...you must answer everything verbally. No nodding to answer a question or any motions, as they are recording this.

The trustee asked if anything has changed since you filed.......no for us....

Are you suing anyone or being sued for anything....no again for us....

Are you expecting any money, from anyone......inheritance or life insurance...no...

    Have you filed bankruptcy before???...no...

Have you given away or treansferred anything of value to friends or family?

A couple more simple questions and he wished us good luck and it was over with...

No problem for all the worrying i did. They never asked why or how you got into this situation.

The room held maybe 25 chairs or so, so you could sit and wait.

I am so glad it went well! My hubby and I had ours yesterday. It was pretty easy. We didn't have an attorney. Everything was smooth. We are in San Diego.
