    Discharged...now questions about credit report?

hello everyone, we were just discharged from a ch7 this week. A couple of questions about my credit report...

How long does it take for the discharge to show up on credit report?

I had 4 accounts with bank of america, 2 of the accounts show that they were included in the ch7...the other 2 say charged off as bad debt even though they were included in the case...how does this get fixed?

My mortgage loan does not say anything about bankruptcy, we did not keep the home and included this as well. The mortgage is thru Chase it shows up as 120 days past due on the credit report. They have not started foreclosure or anything and it has been over a year. This makes me worried.

I also have other accounts that say charged off as bad debt instead of included in bankruptcy.

Did you credit score go up at all after you were discharged?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm nearing discharge, but people say their CR report show IIB for accounts included, all of my do except for my Chase mortgage, just like yours! Mine also states 120+ days late, when it should only be 90 days late when I filed. We both will have to contact the CR agencies and have the mortgage line show IIB. I'm also not in foreclosure and in California and may not be for sometime... as Chase has a lot of underwater properties already to deal with besides all the new ones. A co-worker has Chase and she has not paid her mortgage in over a year and Chase has not filed a NOD to start the foreclosure process! I'm putting the mortgage payment into a high "whoopee" 1.55% yield account and living rent free, but I need to get my CRs to show IIB for Chase! My credit score has increased from 540 to 562 since filing CH7, it might go up 10 points after discharge and if I can get Chase to show the mortgage as IIB. Have you checked your credit score since your discharge? After you get Chase to report your mortgage correctly it should go up at lease 5-10 points and may be more! Also, it is my understanding that Chase cannot report you as "foreclosed" on your CR, after your discharged in Bk, since they have not started the process before you filed.

We moved out a year ago and I wish I would have stayed...I just did not know how long it would take for them to kick us out..here we are a year later and when I think about how much money I could be saving if we still lived there makes me so mad....but oh well I am officially debt free now and no worries. I just need to get my credit report fixed...since I am just discharged I will wait a couple of months and then pull my credit report again. Give all the companies time to update correctly, hopefully.

I know I was thinking before I filed I should move, but after reading several treads on the boards and seeing your still liable if someone gets injured on the your property before the Bank gets the property back... and as lawsuit happy as people are in California and as slow as Chase goes I'm going through things and getting rid of of stuff, so when the NOD is filed at the county clerks office I'll be ready to go in 90 days.
My Bk showed up on my CR within a week filing, so I'm hoping the discharge shows as fast. Once the discharge shows on your CR I would start working on your CR, I heard from others it might take a little time and perseverance to get all your accounts to show IIB. Some start after the 341 meeting and others start after the discharge.

I checked all 3 credit reports a week after discharge and 2 days after closing and everything was at $0 balances including my mortgage for the home I surrendered. Credit score was surprisingly decent to, 650ish on all 3.

Two week after filing we started working on our credit reports. Disputed all accounts We included in bankruptcy. We selected "included in bankruptcy" as the reason for disputed those accounts.

We also disputed every other account by asking each bureau to verify those accounts.

One month after filing we have just about every account listed correctly on our reports.

Right now we're using Credit Check Total to monitor our credit because we get unlimited credit reports from all 3 bureaus. They have a 7 day free trial and after that it's $19.95\month. However, if you call to cancel before the free trial expires and tell them it's too much to continue they drop the price to $9.95 per month. You really don't need to stick with them after getting the credit report & report number because each credit bureau allows you to do an online dispute with their website. You just need the recent credit report and\or number. The online dispute process was very easy with each bureau.

Just wait untill a few month has passed from discharge. You are not going to get any reasnoable credit offers any way so try and live on what you make. In my case most fixed them self. They do not need to list anythin on your report untill after discharge, however most do the first month after being notifyed.

Here is Consumer Advocate Clark Howard's page on credit reports:
