Today I will meeting with an attorney for the very first time to see about filing for Chapter 7. Do I need to bring any paper work with me? And are there certain questions I need to ask?
In setting up the appointment they should have told you what to bring. For a consultation they may not have required anything except basic information. Income, expenses, debt. If a meeting to file then you likely be required to bring last two years of tax returns, six month of pay stubs, mortgage statements, etc.
Questions to ask: Anything and everything you may be curious about. Keeping house/cars? Will the attorney be present at the 341 meeting, etc.
Chapter 7 filed December 11, 2009, 341 Meeting held on January 7, 2010
Deadline to File a Complaint: March 8, 2010

This is just the consultation, I will not be filing today. I wish I was.
I made a list about 2 weeks prior and kept adding to it everytime I thought of something else. The attorney laughed when he saw it, but it helped me get my thought organized and get all my questions aswered. I used up the entire free hour and then some!!
If you think no one cares about you try missing a couple of payments.
