Taking a 401k loan to pay bk lawyer

Is this a good idea for someone that doesn't have the funds at the current time to pay off my lawyer. We really need to get this process started, but can't because we are struggling. This is a loan we do not want to discharge as part of the chapter 7 process. We are only planning to take $1600 from our 401k.

probably a bad idea. most people save for a few months by not paying their bills.

Although it is not the best way to fund your BK, there is nothing wrong with doing so.
