One more ? Real estate value and assessed value

    One more thing...

What does the trustee look at to get the home value? If my tax assessed value is $260,000, but Zillow says $230,000 and a real estate appraisal comes in at $240,000, will he or she take an average? Do some trustees only look at the paperwork you send in as long as it's done by a certified real estate professional?

    Thanks!

In our area, it is the value as assessed by the county. Your mileage may vary.....

Thanks for your reply! If you don't mind my asking, in what state do you reside? So I'm assuming that the trustees in your area don't even ask filers to estimate their home value or get an appraisal - they just go straight to the tax records?

Also, what did you mean by mileage?

It means that while that county tax value is accepted in my area, yours may be different. A good bk attorney in your area will know.

GA is the answer to your other question.
