Keeping my home in a Chapter 7

If I filed for Chapter 7 I would have to go through the means test and wanted to know if I'm allowed to keep my home/mortgage? I have a 1st and 2nd mortgage. If so, what are the stipulations?

We need to have a lot more detail about your income and expenses, which state you live in, your family size, your gross income from all sources over the last six calendar months (and your spouse's too if you filed together), how much equity (if any) you have in your home, if you are up to date on your first and second mortgage payments, what's your home's current market value, along with a lot of other information before we can help you sort out what *might* happen to your house in your situation if you file Ch 7.

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

    06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
    06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
    07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
    09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
    08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

    10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go
