My thoughts about this forum and BK

I studied this forum while i was in the infancy of thinking of filing....i studied, i studied, then i filed chap 7. This was the BEST thing i have EVER done. I worried, wondered, thought the worse...please do not waste your life thinking of filing. More is lost to indecision than no decision. The BK process is meant to protect the consumers. Not only was i discharged Dec 16 of 2.3 Million dollars, but my credit score, now already reflecting the discharge has gone up 80 points! I am not kidding.

This forum helped me make the decision, and i could not be happier. BEFORE the filing were the darkest of my life, NOT after.

I agree with the better sooner than later... But I also think it is a HUGE decision which should not be taken lightly and you will know when the time comes that there are no other better options out there. It fear of the unknown thats the scary part. This forum has been a godsend to me. I have gained so much knowledge from reading all the post.Weird but somehow we are all connected and helping each other thru one of the toughest things I have had to deal with in my life. There is hope on the other side of bankruptcy. Amen

No one wants or plans to purposely bk. No one wants to 'stiff' anyone for the use of their money. The creditor does us a favor in letting us use their money. But there are personal reasons, each being different for each of us, where sometimes the best of intentions are met with personal disasters. There is not a human being on Earth who does not need a helping hand at times.

This ordeal, late on our life, always being financially well, now near destitute, has been the best lesson of all. We have had the realization that wealth is not money, power, or prestige. It is peace and happiness.

Both peace and happiness are controlled states of mind. You choose them daily in the way you live your life and the values you choose to hold dear.

A "new start" in our lives has been more than just a financial break. It has been a soul mending experience. 'Hub and Mrs.

Wow with that much debt , did you have problems from the UST?

I was around $600K and not a peep from my UST. Of course they did want to see a receipt for the Sunday paper we subscribed to

I never heard from the UST, of the 2.3 Million debt, only $120,000 was unsecured. The rest were very underwater properties in Florida. The discharge happened without hitch. Now i have to wait for my tax return and negotiate a buy back for certain properties i am keeping
