Hello all, first post. Unfortunately I think I will be a frequent visitor to this board in the near future and hopefully down the line a contributor for others.
We are currently meeting with our attorney for a scheduled C7 filing sometime
after the new year. My questions (the attorney isnt helpful in this area)
are:
1. I am being considered for a great job at (ironically enough) at a global financial
services company not in a branch or handling money, but in the IT dept.
If I start the job then still proceed with the filing, will the employer know of the filing and can they legally do anything?
2. My credit score isnt great obviously(620) and they do a background check.
No BK or collections listed. Has anyone ever had just credit score cause any pre-employment problems?
3. IF (still a big IF) I get this job at the salary im targetting, it will make me re-examine my filing. Maybe I can workout a plan to pay back some of the debt.
We havent paid since August and Im sure the late/overlimit fees are out the wazoo. Any advice on alternatives to bk in this scenario? Are there any legitimate consolidated/negotiated repayment programs out there?
Can i go back to the CC companies after Ive told them were filing?
Thanks, just trying to gather some real world advice so I can map out the best course of action going fwd. Glad I found this forum
