Most of them do. My CU hit me as soon as the Matrix went out. They will. 'Hub

If you are on active mod, have the lawyer write a letter to BofA stating they can still contact you while in automatic stay.

BofA is the last of those notified to not cut online access. Only 5 days, but expected them to be one of the first. Just curious to see if my low balance checking\savings will be touched.

B oa A even cut my access to my mortgage loan. They are now paid off and I have a reverse mortgage through them.

We have a checking and mortgage through BofA. Weve kept a minimal balance in the checking account and they haven't touched it at all and we have maintained full access of the account online. The mortgage is on the main screen, but I have no access to the account.

most creditor's do. Once you're discharged/closed online access can be restored by calling.

I went into the B of A branch to pay my mortgage last week, and the teller said, "there is a note on your account that we can not take your payment. You must call the loan servicing center." So I went home and called. Apparently when you are in the middle of BK, you have to make a payment over the phone. Seems odd to me. At least they were super nice on the phone!

Call and ask them for the correct address to make your payments. I paid B of A with my online bank account all during my BK proceedings and they accepted the payments. This was for both my first and my HELOC. There IS a different p. o box however.

Can you pay at the local branch?

Why do they do that? Isn't it easier to pay online if you still need to pay them?

My fault for not being clearer with my initial question.

We have a checking\savings account at Bank of America that we want to keep open. We kept a small amount of money in each account before we filed. The other account is a personal line of credit that's IIB. Just trying to figure out when we can resume normal activities with our checking\savings accounts.

I'm thinking we should be OK from this point forward because they can no longer collect on the line of credit after filing BK. I was expecting the LOC access to be cut off already.

Only Wells Fargo are notorious for freezing your account despite you do not even have a loan with them. BofA is does not do them nor credit union. According to my credit union, once BK is filed my account will have a flag of BK then manager will just have to override them and continue with my banking.

My BofA checking and savings account remain open and online with bill-pay (thank goodness as I have direct deposit and it takes over 6 weeks to change). My BofA Visa has been removed from my on-line access since I have filed on it.
