I got the paperwork from my attorney yesterday. It just seemed to make it more real. Now I have to gather up my information. Why would my attorney want the last 4 years tax returns? The one from 4 years ago was from when I was still married (in the process of divorce, but filed jointly as I had no income in 2005) and doesn't really reflect the income that I am receiving as I was a SAHM until 1/2006. Is this really going to have an impact on my filing for Chapter 7? And why would my attorney want returns that far back? He also asked about transfer of property in the last 4 years. Well, yes, I had that. Everything was split in the divorce. Why would they go that far back?

It sounds to me like you've got a good attorney. Looks like he's trying to make sure that he has all of the bases covered. I had to provide 4 years of tax returns and 2 years of property transfers.
Let him do his job.All information contained in this post is for informational and amusement purposes only.
