I filed an answer this week to a GE Money Bank suit. It cost zero dollars to file.

That's the norm. I doesn't usually cost to file a responsive pleading. There are some serious constitutional issues if you are required to pay money to file an answer.

interesting..........I'm in Ca, and i was under the impression it costs $220 to file and answer, same fee it cost the collections Att to file the lawsuit

In Georgia it doesn't cost anything to file a response. It only costs the plaintiff when they initially file. Which is how it should be, in my opinion. The courthouse files are a treasure trove of great documents. You can copy anything you want.

My first divorce cost me tons of money through a lawyer that basically did paperwork and looked real nice standing beside me. My second divorce cost me $80 and went just as smoothly using paperwork I drew up after spending a few hours collecting examples from the courthouse.

Actually I was never really married... Nope, I was sentenced twice. However, I got another judge to reverse each sentence. I think I want to live a single life for quite a while. I have a beautiful daughter and am good friends with the first wife.

The OP and anyone else needing legal help that can't afford a lawyer need to go check out the cases other defendants have used. Especially the ones prepared by high priced lawyers. Free or really cheap copies of legal filings are really worth a lot.
