    collection calls after discharge

    Quick question.

I have been getting a call from Nationwide Collections. I told them I was discharged. The guy drilled me for lawyer's number and case #.

I gave him all of this. Will they call my attorney to verify, or should I send the original debt owner a copy of the discharge. Will the collection agency just send the info to the original owner?

Now that I am fixing my credit reports, I am trying to avoid the hassle of fixing any erroneous bad marks.

    Thanks

are they reporting on your credit report now?

I would send them a letter certified mail with return receipt saying that you were being contacted on a discharged debt, filed XXX, in the district of xxxx, case number xxxxx, and you were represented by xxxxx. Any continued collection activities (including report to your credit report if they haven't yet) will be considered a violation of BK statute xxxxx (sorry you'll have to look it up, I don't know it)

    DISCHARGED- 3/18/2010

not reporting anything yet. I think it is a company that is calling on behalf of the oc.

I'll send them a copy of the discharge letter. I was hoping they would call my lawyer to verify so he could give them an earful.

Drill all you want. The only oil you're getting from me is my lawyers name and phone number.

And my favorite question is "What part of that don't you understand?".

I was taken a bit back -my guard was down!

Will this guy call my lawyer. He was an a#$. I want him to get chewed out. Or will they just have a internal lawyer call my lawyer.

Should I try to go after them. $1000 would be nice for Christmas The debt was for only $56.
