I read that as saying, if your relative dies within 6 months, it doesn't matter if the funds aren't disbursed until later...you still have to inform the trustee you are expecting to receive an inheritance. Might be a question for an attorney, if the situation actually came up--what precisely does "entitled to receive" mean?

If you are related to the deceased or the soon to be deceased and may/will receive money or property, that's being "Entitled to receive" (IMNLO) (In My Non-Legal Opinion)

However, the question is odd that you can't know when the person will die and how much you'll receive.

When I file, I'll say "None" as I doubt my Mother will die within a year or so, even with her going downhill, I'm sure she'll hit some "Plateaus" which she'll spend sometime at.

Just realized something else. At the hearing the trustee asked most people whether they expected to receive an income tax refund (although he didn't ask us, oddly). We filed on October 14. 180 days from then is April 14. If we are due a refund, but don't file until April 15, does that mean it does not have to be reported to the trustee? It's almost a moot point as we had very little withholding this year anyway, but we may wind up being eligible for the earned income tax credit, which is worth around $2500.

If the trusee didn't ask - DON'T TELL.............
If he was interested in taking it he would have already told you at 341 meeting unless he is going to notify everyone by mail.....
        Hopefully he won't bother yours,

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
