Can I borrow before filing?? Please help!!
I am trying to get a loan modification on my mortgage. I am going to be filing chapter 7, hopefully at the end of this month.
I was only 2 payments behind originally with my mortgage but after their "forbearance" plan and a huge balloon I am now about 7 months behind. Had I known it would ever have come to this I would have never said yes to the "trial" because I was told it would be modified but if you have ever tried to get one you know how elusive they are. Of course they don't take partial payments. I can afford the payment, but can't pay all of the past due. I was thinking of borrowing (if at all humanly possible) against my vehicle which has a very small balance left owing and no lates, or borrowing from a family member to get the mortgage caught up before filing. I have all intention of paying back this loan and would reaffirm.
