Question about buying things

I paid my retainer ,but they haven't filed yet.Can I buy Christmas presents? My lawyer has not said anything about this yet,but I have read things on here.I just want to buy a few things. Thanks

Go ahead and buy some gifts. Nobody cares about a few reasonably priced gifts. Just don't use a credit card.
