I live in Indiana. I am 29 and my wife and I had just gotten over a Ch. 7 due to her medical bills. The lawyer told me that I had to file with her because if I did not do so they could come after me and garnish my wages too! So foolishly I did and I went ahead and thew in some bills I had and my credit cards! Hoping it was not a bad idea, I am begining to think it was. Anyway, our Ch 7 was discharged last Oct. and I have papers saying so. But it has not been updated in our credit reports. Our car is about toast, and I was looking at a 2007 truck for $22,000. All we have is rent, and I tried to get the truck myself and keep getting declined!! I make $50,000 a year myself, and my wife makes about $30,000 a year too! So obviously I can well aford a $400-600 truck payment! Any suggestions?

If the only bills you have are rent and you make a combined $80,000, you should easily be able to save up for a used car to pay with cash, while continuing to save for your dream truck.
Just an idea.
