Well.. I was shaking nervous going in to the area where the 341's were being held. I even had to make a pit stop at the bathroom because I thought I was going to start crying!! So I enter the room have a seat and a gentleman in front of me starts chit chatting with me. He had on camo shorts and an abercrombie and fitch t shirt with a straw hat. Nothing I would have ever imagined was appropriate. He was telling me that he filed Ch 7 in 1999. And the very next month he purchased a car. And he was filing again now.. and said he had a hummer and a house and was keeping it all. Basically this was a seasoned bankruptcy veteran if you ask me and he was laughing about the situation. He said if he filed every 10 years for the rest of his life he wouldn't be ashamed.
So the trustee called everyone in that was scheduled during my time slot. Called the people who had their attorneys actually on time first. Of course mine was no where to be seen but whatever. The trustee was laughing and joking but you could tell she was a very firm woman. FINALLY, my attorney came and it was my turn. I was up there for a total of 2 minutes flat. She only asked the standard questions and nothing additional about my petition. I was the only one though. I had a question about the way my address was listed on my petition and she said that if I wanted my discharge papers sent somewhere else... wait..... discharge papers?! Great great news. It went amazing!
I also want to state that a girl in front of me did not have an original social security card. And the trustee was not having it at all. But she did tell her that the SS office was one block away and if she wanted to go get her card she would be happy to fit her in today.
Overall this has been a positive experience because the trustee treated each person with total respect. There are going to be mistakes that were made and some people she needed additional information but she always concluded her requests with "whatever will work best for you". I was very impressed with her professionalism.
Here's to a very.. very.. UNEVENTFUL 60 days!
