Reaffirming mortgage but showing on credit report as BK

I was checking my credit report this morning to see which creditors are listed in the bk thus far…I filed 10-6 and only 4 of the six are showing as IIB…but what concerned me is that my mortgage is showing as included in the bk and shows the balance as $0…However, I am reaffirming my mortgage which is around $30,000 under water so was surprised to see that…is this customary to indicate on my report to be included (in the bk) because they are one of my listed creditors?...or they don’t want to reaffirm?

You just filed on 10/6, so you need to give it some time. As of now, more than likely your reaffirmation has not been signed by both sides or filed with the courts.

Once everything is all done, and discharged...then you should see it reporting correctly.

    Good Luck to you.

It takes time. We reaffirmed our mortgage and it took 6 weeks before our credit report was updated.
4/09 Converted to a Ch 7 due to loss in dh's income
5/09 UST now involved no idea what happens next
7/09 UST has decided to withdraw his motion to dismiss!

I don`t plan on ever getting into the debt trap again, but does it matter to your credit report if you reaffirm mortgages or not? I would think it still reports as payments being paid on time. It would be a factor if you wanted to buy another house in the future.

I reaffirmed my mortgage but it still has not shown up and I was discharged in Jan 09'. I think my lawyer may have done something a little tricky but in my benifit. As long as you pay the mortgage you are able to stay in the property....BUT...the timely payments will not positively reflect on your credit score unless it is reaffirmed.
