First, I just want to say thank you to everyone on here for all your support and valuable information.
I had my 341 yesterday in Los Angeles. I was scheduled for 10 am, as were several other people and they called us in one by one. They had hearings going on in several rooms simultaneously which was good because it was more private, you were in a private small room with the trustee, trustee's assistant and your lawyer if you had one, which I did. I guess they are really busy and have to do it this way now. I wasn't able to hear other people's hearings but noticed they were averaging 5 minutes or less. It didn't appear that any creditors were present, no one was in longer than 5 minutes. When it was my turn, I handed my ID & SSN card and this is what I recall being asked:
1) Please raise your right hand. Do you swear to tell the truth...etc.
2) Please state your full name and address.
3) Did you read and understand the green pamphlet? (you were handed a pamphlet about CH7 upon arrival which you were instructed to read also a questionaire you were required to fill out which turns out had pretty much the same questions as the ones the trustee asked).
3) Did you sign your petition?
4) Did you read your petition before signing?
5) Did you list all of your creditors?
6) Did you list all of your assets?
7) Are there any mistakes or changes you would like to make?
8) Do you have any interest in real estate?
9) In the last year have you sold or transfered any property?
After the last question, the trustee said, "you are excused".
This is what I can recall, it all happened so fast! 5 minutes or less! Everyone there was very polite and I didn't feel nervous or anything. I looked around at people didn't appear to be nervous. It was a good experience, not at all what I expected. Now, I hope everything goes well.
I hope this helps others who are waiting for their turn with the trustee.
