I'm finally coming out of lurking
We filed Ch 7 October 6th, our 341 is Dec 1st.

We have 2 accounts through HSBC, our 2nd mortgage and a motocycle. Both were set up to autodebit from our checking account. I've noticed that both have stopped being deducted. Is this normal? I'm not complaining since we are BROKE, but I don't want to be late on the 2nd since we are keeping our house.

Any advice is welcome.

I think they are making sure that they don't violate the automatic stay. There are some creditors who won't accept any payments during the BK, so you need to save the money until you are discharged and make one payment for the previous 3 months. I recommend calling HSBC and asking if they will accept a payment from you now if this makes you nervous. I'm sure they will be happy to let you know their BK policy.

We had a vehicle through HSBC when we filed. We had to continue paying them in order to keep it but we had to mail a paper check. They stopped sending statements and wouldn't do online payments or drafts anymore.

Our home loan is through Bank of America. I noticed after we filed I could no longer make online payments. We called and they said even though we are keeping the house, they will no longer allow online payments. So now I have to mail in a check each month. Not sure what the point is of not letting us pay online.
