It was a breeze... in and out of the hot seat in 3 minutes. I had reminded myself to answer the questions with simply yes or no if possible, and not add anything more.
Trustee was very polite, congenial, yet businesslike. Asked who did my petition & skeds (I did) and she said they looked fine. Asked a half dozen of the standard questions. Then she said "The matter is closed, you are free to go." And switched off the tape recorder. I thanked her.
There were 10 meetings scheduled in the half hour time frame with mine (that's an average of 3 minutes each!) With 90% pro-se, and 10% having attorneys. All filed their petitions on 10/14/05.
One pro-se couple had the wrong SSN on their filing. Trustee caught it! So, they MUST amend their filing or suffer with a dismissal -- and they MUST give notice to all their creditors -- and file proof-of-mailing with BK clerk -- and copy to the trustee when it's been done. If that is all done by 12/01/05, she said they won't have to appear at their continued 341 meeting on 12/8/05. I was amazed at the care the trustee took in carefully explaining to them what to do and how to do it and make sure they understood. Kudos to the trustee!
All the pro-se filers had to fill out a lengthy questionnaire about how they had completed their forms... where they got their info for exemptions... what websites they got legal advice from if any... how much they paid.
PACER sez: objections due by 01/16/2006... Does that mean my discharge date is set for 01/17/06???
