Free....Free...thank God we are Free at Last!
We got our discharge for Chapter 7 today and we are elated. Stick with it, it is worth all of the stuff you go through. We had a long process. In fact our deadline for the whole process was this Friday so it was really close to getting thrown out completely but it is done.
Now we just need to get a "Dee in Leu of Trust" and get rid of the mansion. We have had our house for sale for the 90 days required by the bank which coincided with the same day our discharge came through. Oh yeah....we have a $2500 tax return coming in this week also. Wow....blessed man really blessed.
We moved out of it 9 months ago and have been living in a beautiful class A motorhome on a greenbelt in town and we just love it. We spent a number of weekends this last summer cruising out to some choice camping spots and it was just a such great fun. They can have the mansion. We bought the Motorhome just before we filed so we could live in it. We wanted to be paying it off while we are in this lifestyle. We see no need to go back to a house. We are both working professionals.
We are NOT going back to that lifestyle again. We have scaled down massively and live very frugaly. Of course we have not debts and are saving more with me on unemployment than we did when we had a six-figure income. When I get back to work or restart my consulting business it ALL goes to savings. I know, taxes but so what. We will save so much it won't be funny. Hey we have to save... there isn't anywhere to put anything in the coach...really frugal living and fun!
We are so blessed that we had good attorneys. We were really expecting to go 13 but they got us through on 7 and man are we happy campers. Wife still works and makes good money. $350 dollard space rent and a small payment for the coach we live in and that's it. Healthcare....uh oh....yeah we pay that but it will go away when I go back to work.
Great joy in the sky above.
We are going to make the very best of this second chance. We won't be raising our lifestyle now. We going to continue this frugal lifestyle and stay debt free.
